Hadley, Bessie Emma …87, Dort’s Cove formerly of Middle Melford, died Monday July 20, 2009 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital with her daughters by her side. Born in Steep Creek, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Annie (Laurie) Swain. Bessie loved to sew, especially her potholders. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford. Bessie loved her grandchildren dearly. She is the last surviving member of her immediate. Bessie is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles; daughters Hilda (Tim) Dort, Dort’s Cove; Dorothy (George) Cresine, Boylston; grandchildren Jessica, Brandon, Amy and Cheryl; great grandchildren Emma, Brooke and Angel Rose. She was predeceased by brother Sydney and sister Mary McCall. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in St. James Anglican Church. Burial in St. James Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bessie may be made to Canadian Juvenile Diabetes Association or Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
