van den HEUVEL, Shirlene Lolyta— 53, Nevada Valley, Inverness, Co., died Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Inverness, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Margaret (Haines) MacKinnon. Shirlene was a waitress employed at Vi's Restaurant for many years and also ran a hairdressing shop out of her house. She was a member of Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh. She is survived by her loving husband of many years, Corry; daughters, Sandria, Halifax; Krystal, University of Ottawa; son, Alex at home; sister, Mary Catherine (Wesley) Gillis, Skye Glen; brother, Murdoch, Nevada Valley; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Stewart United Church with Rev. Donna Tourneur and Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery.
