MacDonald, Donnie “Duncan”- 52, Halifax formerly of Port Hawkesbury, died Saturday, August 15, 2009 in Halifax. Born in Dearborne, Michigan he was a son of Barbara (MacLellan) MacDonald, Port Hawkesbury and the late D.D. MacDonald. Donnie was a carpenter. He is survived by sons, Christian, Montreal, Que. and Luke, Halifax; his former wife Marjorie Gillis, Judique; sisters, Lucille Caparella, Halifax and Allison (Charles) Gillis, St. Margaret’s Bay; brothers, Brian (Lorraine), Port Colborne, Ont.; Paul (Jean) St. Louis, MO.; niece Emmilou Gillis, nephew Travis Gillis and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by sister, Margaret Ann in infancy. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial in St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery, Judique.
