Mansfield, Marion Oliven, 86 - Sunnyville, Guysborough Co.; died Monday, October 5, 2009 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Sunnyville, Guys. Co. she was a daughter of the late Robe and Louise (Clyke) Borden. Marion was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great and great- great grandmother. Marion has sat on numerous boards, such as the Sunnyville Wood Crafters, Black United Front, the Sunnyville Hall Access Committee and the Sunnyville Development Association. She is survived by her husband Joseph Mansfield of 69 years, sons, Clyde (Martha Jane), Albert (Anne Marie), Brian, Roland (Mary Ann) and Michael (Marion) all of Sunnyville; Herbert (Janice), Joseph Jr. (Catherina), Maurice and Foster son Ronald Brodie, all of Ontario; Walter, Spryfield; daughters, Ruby, Josephine (Howard), of Sunnyville; Irene, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; Verna (Douglas); foster daughter Nellie (George) both of Ontario. Marion also leaves to mourn loving sister Dorothy Lucas, sisters-in-law Rita Borden, Gertrude Borden, Helen Pelly, all of Sunnyville; brother-in-law Raymond Mansfield, Sackville; 34 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, many many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Frederick, a daughter in infancy, brothers, Laurier and Garfield, sister, Florence, sister-in-law Glady Pelly, brother-in-law, George Mansfield and two grandchildren. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday in Wesley United Church, Guysborough, with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Marion may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
