Please share a memory of Melvin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dixon, Melvin K. - 64, Little Dover, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2009 at St. Martha's Regional Hospital in Antigonish surrounded by his family. The son of the late Oliver and Ada (Clark) Dixon.
Mel will be remembered for his story telling, his love for tinkering in his garage and his ability to make an hour road trip turn in to a full day event. He would often be seen laughing, playing practical jokes and spoiling his grandchildren. Mel was a wonderful husband who will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn (Boudreau). Mel and Marilyn were deeply in love and you rarely saw one without the other. He is survived by his sons Kevin (Nicole), Antigonish; Kenny, Ontario; Keith, New Brunswick; Grandchildren - his pride and joy: Blade and Brooklyn. Blade says "Thank you for teaching me to drive, even though I was only 10." And Brooklyn wants you to know, she loves you very much and will miss you. Mel is also survived by brothers Gordon (Joan), Shubenacadie, Clinton (Audrey), Stewiacke, his darling Aunt Libby, who he loved dearly, Milford Station and his sister-in-law Shirley, Nine Mile River. Mel was predeceased by brothers Earl, Lester and Wayne. Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation at family request and a private burial will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
