DOBSON, Verena Sylvia- 86, Half Island Cove, Guysborough Co. died Thursday, January, 10, 2008 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Queensport, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Snyder) and the late Osborne George. Verena was the postmistress in Half Island Cove fore many years. She is survived by children Dora (Harris) Vaughan, Bible Hill, Borden Dobson, Boylston, Amy Vickery, Steep Creek, Terry (Lois) Dobson, Sooke, B.C., Basil (Maxine) Dobson, Canso, John (Angela) Dobson, Half Island Cove, Bessie Haines, Canso; sisters Helen (Stan) Perrin, Brampton, Ont., Vivian McInnis, Halifax; caregiver Joyce Lumsden, Half Island Cove; 26 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Borden Dobson, daughters Sylvia Cox, Linda Matheson, Nancy Rhynold, two grandchildren sister Pearl Harber. Visitation will be 7-9pm Saturday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso from where the funeral service will held 2pm Sunday with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial in Bayview Baptist Cemetery, Half Island Cove. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to a charity if ones choice.
