FORBES, Alfa Bradford … 99, Whycocomagh, died Wednesday, February, 27, 2008 in Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck. Born in Skye Glen, Inv. Co., she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Jessie (MacLellan) Nicholson. Alfa was a member of Forbes United Church, River Denys, an adherent of Stewart United Church and U.C.W., Whycocomagh and a member of Bayview Senior Citizens Club, Whycocomagh. Alfa is survived by son Hugh R. (Sybil), Sydney; sister Margaret C. Nicholson, Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck; grandchildren Donald, Douglas, Nancy; great grandchildren James, Cameron, Keegan, Stormy; nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her husband Dan Hugh, sisters Catherine, Tena, Nellie, Agnes, her twin and Flora, brothers Danny, Jack, Willie, Angus and Archie. Visitation will be 7-9pm Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be Saturday at 2pm in Forbes United Church with Rev. Janet Blois officiating. Burial in Fir Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Fir Grove Cemetery Fund, Forbes United Church or a charity of one’s choice.
