BOND, Ralph David – 62, Halifax, formerly of Canso, Guys. Co., died Monday, March 3, 2008 at home. Born in Canso, he was a son of Edna (Feltmate) and the late John “Jack” Bond. Ralph was a construction worker in Ontario and worked on the draggers off Nova Scotia. He was a member of Star of the Sea Parish, Canso. He is survived by son Ralph Jr., Hamilton, On.; sisters Dorothy Avery, Canso, Stella (Joe) Rideout, Canso, Marion Dort, Hazel Hill, Catherine (Laurie) Phillips, Dartmouth, Myrna (Everett) Bouchie, Little Dover; brothers Roland, Johnny, Arnold, all of Canso; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Lloyd, Stanley, sister Mary in infancy, sister-in-law Mary Bond, brother-in-laws Emmett Avery and Nelson Dort. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 11am Friday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
