ENGLAND, Preston Parker – Age 87, Steep Creek, Guysborough Co. With broken hearts and many tears, we the sister’s and brother’s want to announce the passing of our brother and uncle, Preston. Preston passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, his home away from home this last couple of years. Preston was born at home in Steep Creek on May 8, 1933, the fourth of twelve children to our loving mom and dad. Preston started working at an early age. He and his brother operated a lobster smack, buying lobster from Pirate Harbour to St. Francis Harbour for the late Everett Kennedy. He worked with his brother driving a pulp truck, hauling wood to the yard at Morrison’s Lake for the late Tom Chisholm. He was then at Acadia Fisheries in Mulgrave in the freezer department, until the plant was destroyed by fire. From then on, he did painting and carpentry work. Preston was never idle and always found something to do. Preston is survived by sisters, Geraldine and Lorna; brothers, Edward and Ralph; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Jessie (Cummings) England; brothers, Howard, Earl, Albert "Teddy", Sandy; sisters, Rena and Calestine "Toots"; niece, Marlene; nephews, Carson and Stephen. Preston’s request was no memorial donations please. He said if you want to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs it. Cremation has taken place and burial of Preston’s ashes will take place at a later date. A bright light in our lives has been extinguished, but the amount of love, positivity and strength he radiated will remain prominent in every soul who had the pleasure of knowing him.
