Gagnon, Emerise Eva, St. Peter’s formerly of L’Ardoise. We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Emerise Eva Gagnon, 9 days short of her 80th birthday, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston with her daughters by her side on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Mom worked for twenty-five years at the Richmond Vill, St. Peter's. She also volunteered with the L' Ardoise Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and more recently as the host for funeral receptions at the Holy Guardian Angels Parish, L' Ardoise. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marcel. They were married at St. John the Baptist Parish, River Bourgeois. Mom is survived by her children, Bernard (Shelly), L' Ardoise; Madeline (Ewan), L 'Ardoise; Jenny (Ben), Spryfield; her siblings, Yvonne (Cedric), Leo (Claire), Florence (Keats), Doris (Finlay), Alfreda (Basil), Rita (John), Alice (Bill), Norman (Louise). Mom was a very proud Nannie to five grandchildren who referred to her as the "cool nan", Bradley, Josh, Cameron, Dylan and Mark; also five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Joe, Mallory, Maddison and Summer. She was predeceased by her youngest child, Ambrose (2002); her parents, Leonil and Evangeline (Cormier) LeBlanc. Special thanks to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, L' Ardoise Medical Clinic and Strait Richmond Palliative Care Team. Many thanks to her numerous caregivers since her diagnosis in August 2020. As per mom's wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 from Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, L'Ardoise. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted in memory or Emerise to L' Ardoise Volunteer Fire Department, Strait Richmond Palliative Care or a charity of one's choice.
