Parker, Ernest Patrick "Ernie" - Canso Age 85. The family of the late Ernie Parker sadly announce his passing in Eastern Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021.
Ernie was born in Canso; he was a son of the late Basil Steve Parker and the late Margaret (Fitzgerald) Parker.
He enjoyed playing 45’s at the local clubs, volunteering at the Stanfest, great fiddle music and was an avid fan of wrestling and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ernie was a dedicated family man and a good friend to many.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Loretta (Roach) Parker, his children, Wanda (Tom Hempstead), Ernie Jr., Beatrice, Robert and predeceased by his son, Stephen "Steve", also survived by grandchildren, Ashley and Jessica Boudreau, Scott Hempstead, Brenden Best, Lawrence (LJ) Maher, Robbie and Josh Beattie as well as 5 great grandchildren, Jordan, Jayden, Tyree, Treyvon and Aaliyah. Will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother, Frank and sisters, Mabel, Rita (Diggy) and Jean. He was predeceased by brothers, James, Reg, Mike and sisters, Geraldine, Margie, Bertha and Eva.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Supporting Staff at Eastern Memorial Hospital and Canso Seaside Manor for the amazing care provided to Ernie.
Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Ernie’s wishes there will be no formal visitation. Church and Graveside service will be held at a later date.
