MacInnis, Evelyn Elizabeth – It is with profound sadness that the family of Evelyn Elizabeth MacInnis announce her passing in Dartmouth General Hospital on Monday, November 8, 2021. Born in Point Tupper on March 15, 1926, and formerly from Port Hawkesbury, Evelyn was the youngest daughter of the late Edward and Minnie Mae (Kelly) McNamara.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters; Cheryl (Ken) Brothers, Stephanie (Harry) Langley, Michele (David) Fox; her beloved grandchildren; Paul (Zandra) White, Darryl (Jaclyn) White, Barry (Ashley) White, Nicolle Langley, Jason (Krista) Langley, Adam (Ayla) Fox, Christopher (Danielle) Fox. She was also a special Nana to great grandchildren; Caoimhe White, Carter, Max and Darcie White, Riley and Willow White, Cali and Jorja Langley, Evelyn and Franklin Fox and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was always grateful for the support and many favors of her nephew, Brian (Murielle) MacNeil, neighbours and friends, Dougie Beaton, Donnie King, John and Arthur Langley. Evelyn was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Hector; brothers; Carl (Stella) McNamara, Otto (Helen) McNamara, Edward McNamara, Herman McNamara, Hilton McNamara, Clement McNamara, Harry (Helen) McNamara, Harold (Audrey) McNamara, sisters; Eunice (John) MacNeil, Anne (Bill) Spacer and Marie (Lorne) MacDonald.
Evelyn was known for her sense of humor, her love of all things political and most especially for her love of newspapers. Her legacy in our family will always be her love and devotion to each of us and our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a role model for living a life of grace, gratitude and acceptance. She will be dearly missed and always remembered.
