MacLEAN (CAKE), Joan – Age 81, Port Hawkesbury, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021, in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born on April 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James and Elsie Cake. She is survived by her son, Vincent (Jean) Ramsay; grandson, Jodi (Dana) Musgrave; great-grandchildren, Marissa, Cassidy, Icelyne, Ryker; daughter, Cheryl (Pierre) Gaudet; sisters, Betty (late Jim) Stockley and Claudia (John) Whitty; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by daughter, Linette Hudson; sister, Francis Currie; brother, James "Bud" (Beverly) Cake. Joan’s love of cats was second to none and her cat Charlie will miss her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for their kindness and devotion to Joan. A very special thank you to Adele MacRae, Joan’s "Angel", for all the trips she made picking up cat food and doing Joan’s errands, especially during the Covid when Joan’s family could not be there due to Covid restrictions. The family would like to also thank Roy MacKinnon for coming weekly to do Joan’s hair. At Joan’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in Joan’s memory may be made to a local SPCA or to a charity of one’s choice.
