Carter, Lynda 'Lynn' Sophia - 73, Port Hawkesbury, passed away Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 with family by her side in Dartmouth General Hospital. Lynn was born August 24, 1948. She was the eldest daughter of the late John Irvin and Gwendolyn Jean (Warner) Murray of Mulgrave. Lynn worked for the Town of Mulgrave and the Royal Bank in Shubenacadie. She spent the last 30 years living in Port Hawkesbury. Lynn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, spending most of life caring for others. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Church for many years. Lynn shared a very close bond with her friend Marilyn Sanford. She loved spending time with her family by sharing a meal together and gathering with her siblings and their families, walks with her husband and chatting on the phone "catching up on the news". Lynn had a very good sense of humor, sharp wit and a big heart, always making sure everyone in her family was ok. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Donald; son, John (Katherine); daughter, Lindsay (Garrett); grandchildren, Huck, Sadie, Willie, Ida and Abe; her sisters, Mitzi (Wayne), Carla (Placide), Doreen (Harris), Valerie (Mark) and her brother, Ervin (Bernadette). Lynn showed great courage as she spent the last year of her life battling cancer and being cared for at home by her husband. The family would like to thank Dr. James Collins, Dr. Daniel French and dietitian Patricia Campbell and many others who provided exceptional care and support. The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Mulgrave with Rev. Susan Slater officiating. Burial to follow in the St. Andrew's Anglican Cemetery, Mulgrave. Donations can be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Cancer Centre Patient Fund or Strait Chedabucto Parish.
