Shawn Edward Sangster Sept 3, 1968 - Jan 24, 2022 Donahue Lake, Guysborough County Nova Scotia It is with a broken heart I had to say goodbye suddenly to the love and light of my life. On Monday, January 24, 2022, Shawn was called home to be with his dad and many other loved ones in heaven. Shawn grew up in New Harbour, NS and I was blessed to have known him since we were children. Shawn was the best person I have ever known and he was loved by all who knew him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle who loved his family. He had a kind, generous heart that was always reflected in his beautiful smile and his memorable laugh. Shawn was a proud NS Power employee along with over 30 years as an electrician. He loved his work and had many stories and memories he loved to share. He loved to make people smile and would demonstrate kindness and generosity without ever asking for anything in return. Shawn is survived by his wife, Natalie; son, Isaac (Olivia) Sangster; step-children, Alyssa Gillingham, and Lees Brenson; Mother, Jean Sangster (Gerald), father and mother-in-law, Keith and Thelma Brenson Siblings, Kenny (Cathy), Claudia (Derrick), Amelia (Chris) and cherished nieces and nephews, Amanda, Hayley, Callie, Annie, Luke, Easten, JR, Brady (godson); brother-in-law, Don Brenson (Stacey); Chosen family, June Penney. He was predeceased by his father Ralph Sangster, a brother in infancy, his first wife, Wendy, paternal and maternal grandparents and aunts and uncles; all of whom will be there to welcome him home. Shawn will be greatly missed by all of his family and the many friends he met along the way of his short but well lived life. While the world has become a little darker, Heaven has become much brighter. Donations may be made to local food banks and SPCA's in Shawn’s memory. I want to express my deepest appreciation to the person who helped him, the EMTs who didn’t give up, the Strait Richmond Hospital staff who demonstrated compassion at such a difficult time, his NS Power colleagues who have been supportive and the many special friends who have been incredibly supportive during this difficult time.
