ATKINS, Charles Angus - 56, Canso, Guysborough, Co., died Sunday July, 20, 2008 in Auld's Cove. Born in Guysborough, he was a son of Genesta Helena (Gammon) Atkins, Cook's Cove, Guys. Co., and the late Douglas Atkins. Charles worked as a refrigeration engineer at the Canso Fish Plant for over twenty-five years. At the time of his death he was employed by North Atlantic Seafoods Corporation Limited, Auld's Cove. He is survived by his wife Donna, Canso; daughters Mona (Allen Morris), Rowena, both of Halifax, Linda (Lawrence) Ash, Guysborough; brother Billy (Bonnie), Moncton, N.B.; grandchildren Taylor and Kali Ash, Charles Atkins; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister in infancy. Visitation will be held 6-9pm Wednesday and 11am until 1pm Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso, with Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
